Gators move up to No. 4

Florida moved up a spot to No. 4 in two final regular-season college football polls Sunday, all but assuring a BCS at-large bid to the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2.

The Gators (11-1) moved up after previously No. 3 Georgia was defeated by Alabama 32-28 in Saturday's SEC championship game.

The final BCS standings will be released at 8:30 tonight on ESPN. Top-ranked Notre Dame and No. 2 Alabama will meet for the BCS national championship on Jan. 7. projects the Gators at No. 3 in the BCS standings. The Gators' possible opponent in New Orleans is either No. 12 Oklahoma (10-2) or No. 22 Louisville (10-2), which are each coached by former Florida defensive coordinators who were part of Gator national championship teams.

Notre Dame, Alabama, Ohio State (ineligible for the postseason because of NCAA sanctions), UF and Oregon are in the top 5 in the AP poll.
