The three Democrats elected this month to the Alachua County Commission were sworn in last Tuesday before county officials, family members and friends. The three — incumbent Mike Byerly, Charles "Chuck" Chestnut IV and Robert "Hutch" Hutchinson — cited economic development and intergovernmental cooperation as top goals. Byerly began his fourth term on the board, having been first elected in 2000. Other county commissioners are Susan Baird and Lee Pinkoson.
