A Gainesville man argued with a woman as she drove a car they were in with two infant children before yanking out a clump of her hair, police said.

Christopher Lanard Batie, 23, of 2809 NE 11th Ter., and the woman were arguing Sunday afternoon when he grabbed the woman’s hair and ripped out about 2 to 3 inches of it, leaving a bald spot on the woman’s head, according to a Gainesville Police report.

The woman said that Batie’s actions almost caused her to crash.

Batie admitted to grabbing the woman’s hair, but says that she grabbed his first, according to the police report.

Batie’s actions put both of the children’s lives in danger, the report said, and could have resulted in severe physical injury to both.

Batie was arrested on charges of domestic and child abuse and was being held Monday at the Alachua County jail.
