Motorcyclist critically hurt in Lawtey

An Orange Park motorcyclist was critically injured in Bradford County early Saturday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle and slid across the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Stacey R. Jenkins, 41, was taken to Shands at the University of Florida following the crash at 2:30 a.m. on Bradford County Road 225 in Lawtey, FHP reported in a press release.

Jenkins was northbound on CR 225 when he drove onto the east shoulder of the road and lost control. The motorcycle fell and slid across the roadway, ending up near the woodline on the west shoulder of the road, FHP reported. Jenkins fell off the motorcycle and slid into the middle of the road, FHP said.
