The SEC games worth keeping an eye on this week
Even if Florida QB Jeff Driskel's sprained ankle is healed, it may not be enough to pick up a hobbling offense that trudges into Tallahassee to face the best defense in the nation. However, the Gators have grinded out plenty of wins over the course of their 10-1 season. Plus, Florida has a chance to end a two-game losing streak to its archrival while doing its part to reach Miami.
It was revealed on Wednesday that the NCAA has spent weeks investigating Auburn for potential improprieties involving Auburn recruits, players, coaches, representatives of the school's athletic interests and third parties. This publicity makes it even harder for the lowly Tigers to derail the rolling Tide.
This would be a monumental win for a 6-5 Georgia Tech team that lost to Middle Tennessee by three touchdowns and fired its defensive coordinator earlier this year. The Yellow Jackets can score points as they average 38.6 a game with their triple-option, but they're also giving up almost 30 a game. The Bulldogs have won 10 of 11 in this rivalry, and will be motivated.
