Injured Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel returned to practice Tuesday and is expected to start Saturday's game at Florida State, UF coach Will Muschamp said Wednesday.
“Jeff looked very good at practice yesterday and he'll be ready to go,” Muschamp said on the SEC coaches' teleconference. “Yes, he would (start) at this time. Obviously we've still got a couple of more days of practice, but he looked good enough to me that he'll be fine.
“Jacoby Brissett looked fine, too. We'll go from there. Right now, Jeff looks good.”
Driskel sprained his right ankle in the second half of the Louisiana-Lafayette game two weeks ago and missed last Saturday's game against Jacksonville State.
Muschamp announced Monday that Driskel had been cleared to return to practice Tuesday.
Now, unless something unexpected happens between now and Saturday, Driskel will start against the Seminoles, Muschamp said.
“He looked fine. We did everything we normally do. There was nothing limited within the package of what we normally do to prepare for any game,” Muschamp said. “He looked very good yesterday. Unless something unheard of happens in practice today or tomorrow, he ought to be ready to go Saturday.”
Muschamp said wide receiver/kick returner Andre Debose (knee), offensive tackle Chaz Green (ankle) and fullback Hunter Joyer (thigh bruise) have also returned and will play in Saturday's game. Outside linebacker Neiron Ball (ankle) is back at practice, but still is not at full speed.
“We're pretty healthy going into the game,” Muschamp said.
