Armed with a credit card and access to the Internet, anyone can go holiday shopping. Finding the perfect gift, on the other hand, sometimes requires a little more work.
For those who love the quirky finds at garage sales but don't like sifting through piles of items, there are Gainesville's most eclectic of shops.
And, for those who support local art, we've compiled the following list of galleries and gift shops.
Vintage, thrift and boutique
Persona Vintage Clothing & Costumes
Walking into Persona is like walking into your grandparents' attic.
Owner Nava Ottenberg says that there's a fascination with vintage-quality items.
"It's so varied and eclectic that it's kind of like an experience, stepping into different time periods that you don't see very often when you go to cookie-cutter mall stores," she says.
Best-selling items include vintage owl necklaces ($18-$26) and bacon wallets ($10-$26).
