Time for secession
Many of you have perhaps heard of the petition on the White House website calling for the secession of Florida from the United States. It is an idea whose time has come. It was a good idea in 1861 and it is an even a better idea now.
We cannot reform the present federal government anymore than we could fix a corpse!
The League of the South has been advocating for secession since 1994, so we have been at this for a while and invite interested southern patriots to consider joining with us in this honorable struggle.
Are you ready to leave the District of Corruption behind? Are you ready to join the southern resistance?
League of the South
We're all so mad
I see a very disturbing trend in America today. We seem to be so mad.
We're mad because you're black. We're mad because you're poor. We're mad because you're old.
We're mad because you're rich, because you're sick, because you're Christian. We're mad because you're white, because you're Muslim.
Has the milk of human kindness really dried up? In the words of The Youngbloods: “Come on people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together try to love one another right now.”
Are you mad because I wrote this?
A waste of money
The elections are now over and roughly $2 billion went down the rat-hole to finance ridiculously long campaigns. That's a lot of money.
Imagine how such a sum could be better used rather than to finance an election. We could stop our outrageous expenditures in Afghanistan, where we are in a no-win situation.
We could beef up Social Security, or increase jobs or reduce our humongous debt.
There are a number of ways to use such money, and political campaigns should certainly not be on the list.
Hats off to the voters
Thanks be unto God that we do not have to look at voter suppression as a reason our president would have lost the election.
Never would we want the world to believe that the vision of America could be thrown away by spending millions of dollars to suppress the vote.
In any case, it's important to say that America is important and still going forward because people followed their hearts and minds rather than what somebody told them in a deceptive way.
My hat is off to the democratic process and a nation that showed proof that it is working.
Way to go, Pat
Pat Dooley's column in Sunday's Sun about Florida's football's win on Saturday was one of the most enjoyable articles I have seen in recent years. It exhibited a high level of fun reading, with journalism expertise that is seldom seen in the present era of television and radio news, or in “twitter” and other person-to-person communications. If you did not read it, give yourself a treat and find it. You'll be glad you did.
Focus on Christmas
Patsy Cook (Voice, 11-11) said what a lot of us should take time to say. Let's hope people are listening. I couldn't agree more, Jesus is the reason for the season. I want that to be my focus, and hope it is your focus also.
So, what's the new chain of command with the FBI? As noted by The New York Times, the first agent contacted by one of the women involved in the sex scandal decided there must be a cover-up and that he must contact a Republican. Probably nine out of 10 military officers identify with the GOP. Where's the cover-up? Where's the FBI discipline?
