First half: The Gators struggled to score points, but they did average 7.6 yards a play while gaining 250 yards.
Second half: The Gators pretty much shut it down after Jon Bostic’s interception for a touchdown gave them a 17-0 lead.
For the game: Against an FCS team that was known for its bad defense, Florida scored one offensive touchdown.
First half: The defense pitched a shutout, but that had a lot to do with the Jacksonville State field goal kicker missing a couple of short ones.
Second half: Florida dominated in the second half and turned the fourth quarter into a punt-fest.
For the game: The Gator defense outscored the Gamecocks 7-0. You can’t ask for much more than that.
Special teams B
First half: A blocked field goal was the negative, but the coverage teams did an excellent job on both kickoffs.
Second half: Caleb Sturgis redeemed himself with a couple of 40-plus-yard field goals and coverage continued to be good.
For the game: Sturgis, in his last game at Florida Field, scored 11 points all by himself.
The Gators made it 10 wins for the season the same way they’ve been doing it all year. You can’t still be surprised at the lack of offense.
