A Gainesville woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon on an attempted robbery charge for her alleged role in a July incident in which a shot was fired.

Jennifer D. Webb, 24, of 1632 NE 5th Ave., was arrested by Gainesville police on charges of attempted armed robbery and giving police false information for an incident that happened July 28, according to an arrest report.

Webb and an unidentified culprit are accused of plotting to rob a man who was known to have a lot of money. The arrest report states that Webb drove the man to a store parking lot, where he was going to rob the victim.

Store surveillance video shows the unidentified robber walked up to the victim, put a gun to his head, force him to the ground and pistol whip him in the head. A shot was fired during the struggle, shattering a car window.

The unidentified gunman then ran off.

Investigators were able to link Webb to the case. The report states she confessed to her role. Police said she gave them false information about the other man involved in the case, who is still at large. The case is still under investigation.
