Sixty percent of people polled say they want the wealthy to pay more taxes. President Obama ran for a second term on raising taxes on the wealthy as opposed to the middle class and was elected by sixty-six percent of the electoral votes and six of seven swing states.
House Speaker John Boehner states that the President should show leadership by accepting the Republican tax plan and not raise taxes on the wealthy. I guess when you win an election you show leadership by accepting the losing parties policies.
In most democracies the winning party gets to implement their policies, otherwise, why have an election. If the deficit issue is not resolved and this republican lunacy continues I hope people make the responsible parties pay, as they did in this last election.
