The weather this week will stay pretty consistent in the Gainesville area with high temperatures in the mid 70s and overnight lows in the mid 50s.

From Monday through Friday, there will be a 20 percent chance of afternoon showers, said Larry Struble, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Residents should see partly cloudy skies throughout the week.

Tuesday may be the hottest day of the week with an expected temperature high of 80 degrees, while Friday will probably be coldest with an expected maximum temperature in the low 70s and lows in the low 50s throughout the weekend.

“We do have a cold front coming through mid-week, but it’s not going to have a whole lot of impact on the Gainesville area here,” he said.

The cold front should pass through the area around Tuesday, but it is expected to weaken as it comes further east.
