One person was killed and another critically injured Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Levy County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

David G. House, 81, was killed and his passenger, Betty House, 80, both of Alvaton, Ky., were traveling north on alternate U.S. 27 at around 12:40 p.m. when witnesses said their 2003 Subaru Outback veered off the road and a side mirror struck a utility pole, the report stated.

The vehicle crossed 151st Terrace and hit a fence post, causing the SUV to roll over and then hit a tree, the report stated.

David House was pronounced dead at the scene and Betty House was transported to Shands at the University of Florida in critical condition, according to the FHP.
