Three juveniles were arrested Thursday at the scene by Alachua County sheriff’s deputies responding to an in-progress burglary call, sheriff’s spokesman Art Forgey.

The teens -- ages 17, 15 and 14 -- are accused of kicking in a door at Shellrock Villas, at 123 SW Eighth Place, at about 3:17 p.m.

Deputies responding to a burglary call saw the oldest teen, who matched a suspect description, running and stopped him, Forgey reported.

The 15-year-old was seen leaving the back of an apartment adjacent to the burglarized unit and was taken into custody, Forgey said.

A police dog arrived, and the third suspect surrendered from the adjacent apartment when deputies announced the dog would search the unit.

Investigators found a computer and several other stolen items in the apartment where the suspects had been, Forgey reported.
