Indian Cuisine Restaurant is moving into a larger location for the second time in five years, but this time will go only as far as the other end of the same plaza.

Owner Prashant Patel said the restaurant at 3550 SW 34th St. might reopen late this week at the earliest in the location that last housed the Maria Alvarez Imperial Dance Studio.

Indian Cuisine opened in 2004 on Archer Road and moved to its most recent location four years later.

Patel said the restaurant will have more seating, more servers and a bigger buffet. Patel said he also plans to add online ordering and credit payment by handheld devices for faster service.

Filling in its old location will be Take Away Gourmet, which will move a little farther from its spot at 3445 SW 34th St. Owner Darleen Randall said the new location will give her more visibility and 50 percent more space.

She opened the business three years ago after buying Dine by Design. Take Away Gourmet offers catering and custom meals.

Ocean Buffet

A sign is up announcing that Ocean Buffet is coming to the Oaks Mall Plaza at 6795 Newberry Road in the former New Century Buffet.

The owner could not be reached for comment.

The family business opened a location last year in Ocala. A review in the Ocala Star-Banner described it as a Mongolian barbecue, or hibachi grill, with 150 choices, including seafood, Chinese favorites, sushi rolls, eight flavors of ice cream and American favorites, such as filets and roast beef for dining in or taking out.

Chinese food

The owner of China Star at 3307 W. University Ave. is doing extensive remodeling of the old Waffle House at 2120 SW 13th St. to open a similar Chinese restaurant.

Nelson Zheng said he did not know when the new restaurant might open.

The Waffle House closed in 2008. ZWZ Group, led by Zheng, bought the property for $80,000 in November 2010.

Blue Water Bay

After a short-lived go in downtown Gainesville, Blue Water Bay now has turned its attention to opening a second location in Palatka.

Owner Byron Terwillegar said he is about three weeks out from opening a full restaurant at Crystal Cove and a breakfast and lunch place across the parking lot at the marina. The marina has added 200 boat slips and has room for larger boats, he said.

The full restaurant at 131 Crystal Cove is the former location of Corky Bell's before it moved to East Palatka.

He said it will have a similar menu to his Melrose location.

Sugar Creek

Sugar Creek has opened for breakfast and lunch in the former Jeff's New York Deli at 2226 NW 6th St.

The eatery offers large portions of home-cooked meals, including big omelets. The menu also includes sandwiches, burgers and 30 different milkshakes.

Owner Jeremiah Gongloff previously had a restaurant in Ohio.
