The SEC games worth keeping an eye on this week
Florida fans will be rooting for Ole Miss, which takes on Georgia “between the hedges.” The Rebels hold the best chance for the Gators to claim the East after the Bulldogs' victory over the Gators last week. After being criticized from outside and inside the team's locker room, the Dawgs' defense woke up with its back to the wall. Georgia can't let up against a talented Ole Miss attack.
Alabama and LSU both had an open date before last season's “Game of the Century.” This time, the Tigers are the only ones enjoying an off week heading into the matchup. LSU is hoping to get the same production it's enjoyed lately from freshman RB Jeremy Hill, who's emerged the last two weeks.
We've got next
The last time Texas A&M and Mississippi State met, it was in the 2000 Independence Bowl when the Bulldogs won 43-41 in OT during an unexpected snowstorm in Shreveport. Both teams have taken lumps at the hands of the two West powerhouses recently. If neither team ends up contending this year, it's still a statement game for these two promising programs.
