The SEC games worth keeping an eye on this week

East up for grabs

No. 3 Florida can clinch the East with a win over No. 12 Georgia. The Bulldogs would need to win and probably take care of Ole Miss and Auburn. While Florida has been surprisingly good, Georgia has been surprisingly bad the last two games. UGA senior safety Shawn Williams said the defense was “playing too soft.” That needs to change if Georgia is to cool off a streaking Florida.

Give and take

No. 1 Alabama and No. 13 Mississippi State haven't been tested in SEC play up to this point. The two have beaten seven league squads with a combined record of 3-26. Regardless, these teams have thrived on protecting and seizing the ball. Something has to give, or take, in Tuscaloosa.

South Carolina slide?

No. 17 South Carolina doesn't have the same goals that it did two weeks ago, but there's still plenty to play for at home this week against Tennessee, not the least is staying unbeaten at home. USC also has something to prove offensively: Connor Shaw has to re-establish himself as the team's QB and Marcus Lattimore has to bounce back from injury.
