On Nov. 6, vote for Barbara Sharpe for re-election to the Alachua County School Board.

This is one of the most important local races, as it impacts the quality of our schools and what is being taught in them. Sharpe is a 16-year veteran on the board and nothing about her service indicates she should not be allowed to continue serving.

She has the experience of having served as board chair and as president of the Statewide Association of Local School Boards. Her proposal to adopt a district-wide policy of students wearing uniforms has resulted in an enormous economic savings to parents and students alike and has been well accepted throughout the county.

Barbara's thinking outside of the box in establishing a hotline to report complaints of bullying is another example of her forward thinking and another of the many reasons to return her to the School Board.

Aaron Green,
