The SEC games worth keeping an eye on this week
Bayou deja vu?
Despite No. 9 LSU's devastating loss to Florida last week, the Tigers have a golden opportunity to thrust themselves right back into the national title picture with a win over No. 3 South Carolina. However, LSU's defense will need to do a better job against yet another running back that can wear down a defense. Marcus Lattimore has looked like his old self the last couple of weeks.
Mr. Rodgers' neighborhood
Florida had a tough time with dual-threat QB Jordan Rodgers in a narrow 26-21 win over Vanderbilt last season. He'll be looking for his big target, Jordan Matthews, who had 9 catches for 170 yards and a score in that game. This time, the Gators have to travel to Nashville.
No. 19 Mississippi State's defense has forced 15 turnovers, which is fourth best in the nation. Offensively, junior QB Tyler Russell has thrown 10 TDs and one INT while LaDarius Perkins is second in the SEC with 99.8 rushing yards a game. Still, Tennessee will be the stiffest test for MSU so far, and the Bulldogs' best start in 13 seasons will be tested for its legitimacy.
