Judah Fest

PASSAGE Family Church will sponsor its annual Judah Fest, a free community fish fry.

It will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at T.B. McPherson Recreation Center at 1717 SE 15th St. The event will feature dance, games, music and more than 1,000 pounds of fried fish, hot dogs, baked beans and more.

Other churches and vendors will be available to minister to and educate people about services and resources available in the community.

Benefit/anniversary

Lazarus Restoration Ministries Inc. will host its annual "Show the Love" program and celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Highlands Presbyterian Church at 1001 NE 16th Ave. Proceeds from the event will benefit homeless families through the ministry's Self-Sufficiency Housing Program.

Church anniversary

Dayspring Baptist Church will celebrate the church's 98th anniversary.

The service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church at 1945 NE 8th Ave.

The speaker will be Dr. Angela D. Washington, a professor at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.

Women's conference

Compassionate Outreach Ministries will host its 2012 Women's Conference banquet and conference culmination service.

The banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center at 1714 SW 34th St. The culmination service will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at the church at 320 SE 43rd St. Banquet tickets, which are required, cost $30.

The banquet speaker will be Elder Fondrea Lewis of New Jersey, and the speaker at the culmination service will be Evangelist Joyce Rodgers of Texas.

Bartley Temple United Methodist Church will celebrate the church's 62nd anniversary.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 19-20 and 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the church at 1936 NE 8th Ave. The theme will be "Keeping Our Charge ... Glorifying Our God Through the Years, 1950-1962."

Emanuel Baptist Church will host a breast cancer awareness workshop and programs.

The workshop will be held from 9:45 a.m.-noon Oct. 20, with the programs at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the church at 1203 NE 8th Ave. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the workshop and the colors for the programs will be pink and white.

The Men's Ministry at Pleasant Plain United Methodist Church will sponsor a benefit program for Emanuel and Jessie Baker.

It will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Female Protective Society Temple at 12610 NW 39th Ave. Emanuel Baker was injured in a horrific accident this summer

The benefit will feature praise and worship, singing and the collection of a love offering.

Williams Temple Church of God in Christ will celebrate the 44th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Detroit R. Williams, pastor of the church.

Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. through Friday and 10:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday at the church at 628 NW 7th Ave.
