The revival will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 17-18 and the concert will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 19, both at Upper Room at 3575 NE 15th St.

Evangelist Dr. Kenny Knight of Refreshing Oasis Church in Woodbine, Ga., will lead the revival. Griffin, a Chicago native who is director of worship at Abyssinia Baptist Church in Jacksonville, will serve as the organizer of the concert.

The Rev. Karl "The Rev." Anderson, senior co-pastor of Upper Room, said the church is hosting Faith Week again to be a blessing to its partners and others.

"Faith Week is something we usually do in the fall to encourage people to hang on to their faith," said Anderson. "After the year is almost gone, there are some people who have not met the goals they started the year with. Faith week is held to encourage them to hang in there and to keep the faith. We know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."

Anderson said the revival with Knight will be very inspirational.

"He relates well to people of all walks of life, young and old, and people in Gainesville are kind of familiar with him because he has been here before," Anderson said. "He will have a dynamic and inspiring word."

Griffin, organizer of The Faith Tour 2012, said the concert will feature aspiring gospel artists who "feed off one another." He said the tour will be traveling to different states the remainder of the year, with dates in Daytona Beach and Jacksonville.

The concert will feature Griffin, a 2013 Stellar Award nominee for his debut album, "I Am Somebody: 1 Peter 2:9," which he released through his own label, MGM Chicago Music Group.

Others performers will include Chris Epps, also of Jacksonville, who lived in Gainesville briefly as a child and still has family here; Jessica Ruiz of Cleveland; Christian rapper Dia and the Russell Delegation, Wilmington, Del.; Prince Rod Performance Company, also of Jacksonville, and the Upper Room Mass Choir.

"The artists on the tour are all up-and-coming and we all want to lift up the name of Jesus and be an inspiration to people," Griffin said.

Anderson said the concert is going to be a blessing because it is going to end Faith Week with a mighty praise and worship service.

"It is going to be a jubilant end after a powerful two-night revival," Anderson said. "We are going to celebrate the results of the revival.

"After the faith increase, we are going to celebrate the expecting harvest."
