“We're not in the NCAA Tournament yet,” Donovan said at UF basketball media day Wednesday. “There is a process we have to go through and we're just starting that process.”

Florida returns three starters and eight players overall from a team that finished 26-11 and reached the Elite Eight last season.

Donovan also confirmed Wednesday that forward Cody Larson is no longer on scholarship but chose to return to the team as a walk-on. That leaves Florida at 13 scholarship players, including transfers Damontre Harris and Dorian Finney-Smith,

Donovan strongly hinted that Gainesville native Scottie Wilbekin will get the first crack to replace Erving Walker at starting point guard.

“I think Scottie brings a different element to the position defensively,” Donovan said.
