Ocala man killed in crash near McIntosh

McINTOSH — A 24-year-old man was killed in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Robert Crowley Jr., 24, of Ocala, was driving his 2009 Toyota Camry south on U.S. 441 between Micanopy and McIntosh when the accident occurred at 1:15 a.m., a press release states.
Crowley was driving in the inside southbound lane when he began to negotiate a turn and lost control near the intersection of Northwest 219th Street[a] Road.
The Camry began rotating clockwise, crossing the outside lane and onto the west grass shoulder, the report states. The vehicle hit a tree and overturned.
Crowley was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. He was transported to Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he was pronounced dead, the report states.
