Oak Hall girls place fifth at Pre-State Invitational

TALLAHASSEE — The Oak Hall girls cross country team placed fifth at the Florida State Pre-State Invitational, with Brittney Olinger, Grace Blair and Lauren Perry all finishing among the top 25 individually in the elite division at Apalachee Regional Park.

Olinger, who placed ninth at last year's Class 1A state meet, took 17th in Tallahassee with a time of 18:51.5. Blair, a seventh-grader, took 22nd (19:13.0), and Perry, an eighth-grader, 23rd (19:13.2).

Class 3A Estero edged St. Thomas Aquinas for the overall girls team title.

In boys, senior Garrett Westlake of P.K. Yonge had the best local finish, taking 23rd in the elite division with a time of 16:16.1. Joseph Janson of P.K. Yonge took 10th (16:43.1) and Carsten Thue-Bludworth of Eastside 11th (16:44.5) in the silver division. In team competition, Buchholz placed second in the bronze division, with John Dougherty taking third individually (16:55.9).
