A man was robbed and hit in the head with a gun at a southwest Gainesville apartment complex early Thursday morning in a drug deal that went bad, said Gainesville police spokesman Ben Tobias.
The robbery occurred about 2 a.m. at Cabana Beach apartments at 1601 SW 51st Terrace. The victim had arranged to meet two men who wanted to buy marijuana from him.
As he was walking downstairs he was accosted by the two, one of whom hit him on the head with a handgun, police said.
Meanwhile, the victim’s roommate came outside and was also accosted by the culprits.
Police Lt. Mike Schibuola said the culprits fled after getting miscellaneous items from the victim.
Detectives have identified the suspects as Terrence Davis, 21, and Justin Robinson, 19, from cellphone numbers and from information found in Robinson’s car. However, police have not been able to find the men. They are considered armed and dangerous, Tobias said.
