A Georgia man was killed in a crash early Wednesday morning on U.S. 301 in Bradford County when the pickup truck in which he was a passenger drove into the back of a tractor-trailer rig, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
David E. Roberson, 52, of Mershon, Ga., was in a car driven by Debra Sharpe, 61, also of Mershon, who was taken to Shands at the University of Florida with serious injuries, FHP said.
The accident happened at 12:58 a.m. on U.S. 301 at Southeast 48th Avenue. Sharpe was driving a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck north on U.S. 301 behind a semi driven by Joseph Goble, 48, of New Port Richey, the report states.
Goble was stopped at a red light, and Sharpe failed to stop and drove into the back of the trailer. FHP reported that Roberson died at the scene.
