An increased chance of rain in on tap today with a 40 percent likelihood of showers across the region, according to the National Weather Service.

The scattered showers, and perhaps a thunderstorm, will primarily be in the afternoon. The high temperature is expected to be 88 degrees.

Thursday Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming east 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Thursday Night A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Friday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Friday Night A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87.

Saturday Night A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Sunday A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 84.
