A little nasal spray keeps the influenza away.
Friday is the deadline for elementary school parents to submit students' FluMist forms, which can be found on the School Board's homepage at www.sbac.edu along with a full calendar of when the vaccine will be administered at each school.
Parents can click on the FluMist link under the District Information heading, where they can download and complete the necessary forms.
Middle and high school parents have a little more time to get their forms in, with the deadline scheduled for Oct. 18.
Jackie Johnson, spokeswoman for Alachua County Public Schools, said the FluMist program offers free immunizations to all students in the district who have turned in forms.
"The FluMist itself is administered by health-care professionals," she said.
The first administration is scheduled from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at Glen Springs Elementary, where Johnson said all students have turned in their forms.
