Whenever Eastside and Gainesville High get together in sports, you can count on a crowd to follow.

Tonight, the two schools meet at Citizens Field for a football game that on paper certainly looks one-sided for the Class 6A, No. 1 Hurricanes (4-0), who besides a three-point win over No. 6 Columbia, have won games by an average of 22 points. The Rams (2-2) have played their last two games without standout quarterback Sir Jackson (shoulder injury) and had great play from backup Landon Rogers in two recent starts. Jackson could see action tonight.

This has been a streaky series lately with GHS winning the last three meetings and Eastside winning the previous five before that.

While GHS has its sights set on a state title, Eastside is looking for its first state playoff berth since 2008. But tonight, none of that matters. It's 'Canes vs. Rams, and city bragging rights are on the line. A victory by Eastside, which already topped Buchholz (13-10) this season, would mean its first city title in four years.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on AM-1230 and online at www.theprepzone.com (video and audio).
