Jen Quinn: Spirit of Gainesville nominee

I would like to nominate Jen Quinn for the community service award for a variety of reasons. She has devoted herself countless hours to serving her community since moving to Gainesville from Tucson, Arizona in June 2005. She Has acted unselfishly in her pursuits in accomplishing her missions (which are numerous) . She is well meaning and so positive. She is pioneering and very organized. She WELCOMES challenge and is generous with her creativity. She has been involved in a multiple of organization. Here are a few activities that she has been involved in:

Queen of Peace Catholic Church - Decorations Committee - Octoberfest, Ministry Fair (2005-present)

Queen of Peace Catholic Church - MOMS (Membership Database, Newsletter, Teaching Classes, Babysitting (2005-present)

Jr. League - Vice President - Finance (2011-2012)

Jr. League - Treasurer (2010-2011)

Alachua County Take Stock in Children - Mentor (2009-2011)

Girl Scouts - Started Troop in 2006 - Troop Leader (2006-2009)

School Board of Alachua County - Students with Special Needs Committee - Parent Representative (2009)

2006 - Organized and led a petition drive to collect signatures to support a multi-use path along SW 8th Avenue

Made a presentation to the Alachua County Commissioners who endorsed and voted to fund the project

It was the top priority multi-use path project and is slated to be completed in 2013 (delayed for several years)

Jen also is the parent that you can call upon at any time and ask to volunteer in the class. (and it doesn't even have to be the class her children are in) She is a remarkable Altruistic, Thoughtful, Talented Woman whom I am honored to nominate today.
