Florida gained a victory on both the gridiron and the recruiting trail Saturday.
Hours after their 27-14 win over Bowling Green, the Gators picked up a verbal commitment from four-star wide receiver Alvin Bailey (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) following his team’s 55-0 blowout over Brandon.
Bailey chose UF over Notre Dame and UCF. He was offered by Florida during his unofficial visit to Gainesville on Aug. 15. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder grew up a Gator fan and always dreamed of playing for Florida.
Proximity to home and his close relationship with former teammate and UF freshman running back Matt Jones were big factors in his decision.
The Gators now have 19 commits in their 2013 class and 14 members from the ESPN150. Verbal commitments are not binding until prospects sign their national letters of intent Feb. 6.
