Shannon Miller is a great protector and advocate for the elderly and disabled in our community. She serves as the guardian for many developmentally disabled adults who don't have family to direct care or services for them. Often the Court will look to her to take on guardianships in very difficult situations. Shannon has been a strong voice for seniors in advocating for Medicaid services for those who have no voice on the state and federal level. She has recently undertaken a project to help coordinate probono legal services across the state for seniors who need legal help but cannot afford it. She has recently served as the chair of a committee advocating the needs of exploited seniors on the local level working together with local law enforcement and the state attorney's office to help focus and coordinate efforts to stop financial abuse and exploitation of our seniors. Shannon is also a frequent speaker and educator for senior and disabled individuals on issues affecting those with disabilities and infirmities and their families.
