For ten years, UF Heal the World volunteers have performed thousands of hours of service every year to the Sterling House, Interface, Pleasant Place, Camp Boggy Creek, Give Kids the World, Terwilliger Elementary School, Relay for Life, Disney Half Maration, Light the Night Walk, and others. Gainesville, Alachua County, and North Central Florida benefit from the services our pre-med, education, and social service majors provide. Though most of our students take heavy academic loads, they are always available for health screenings, tutoring, mentoring, and fundraising.

About UF Heal The World

Occupation: Students

Years in Gainesville: 10

Nearly every member volunteers 50-100 hours a year. UF Heal the World has a tradition of strong leadership from our founder to our current president and we continue to attract 100 new members every year. They were voted UF Student Organization of the Year in 2008 and every year, President Machen honors our leaders with Presidential Service Medals. I am proud to be their faculty advisor and even though this is not an individual, I hope you will accept this submission. They might nominate me, but they are truly the Spirit of Gainesville.
