Margaret Tolbert is a world-renowned visual artist who moved to Gainesville when she still in school ,and attended Gainesville High School. She went on to become an outstanding student and graduate of UF, and has made a name for herself internationally, but unlike many other artists, she has continued to live in Gainesville, and continues to be inspired by the Florida springs, raising awareness of their importance and the need to protect them. With the publication of her book AQUIFERious in 2010, she has brought artists, scientists and concerned citizens together, with ongoing discussion panels, Facebook page and exhibitions.
