Sara Morsey was born in Louisville, KY. She found her way into the field of dentistry even though she kept a passionate eye on the arts. She found her way into a teaching job and acquired tenure. However, the passion for the art remained in her heart. Finally, she threw logic to the wind and entered the MFA program in acting at the University of Louisville. Needless to say, she found her place in the world and the place where she really believed that she could make a difference. Sara has acted all over the United States, however, when she came to Gainesville to do her first acting gig at the Hippodrome, she fell in love.
About Sara Morsey
Years in Gainesville: 20
Eventually, Sara moved to Gainesville and holds the Hippodrome as her "artistic home". She has created many diverse roles for the theatre and continues to do so. She is also a visual artist and her artwork and flourished in Gainesville residing in many homes. She fixes very low prices to her art as her belief is that "art should be for everyone..." She just wants to find a home for her art that brings a smile to the owners. She recently started her own business--GAINESVILLE VALET. This business was created to run errands, help with appointments or anything that is needed for people who need help in getting around. Once again, her prices involved in this endeavor are very, very low as her main goal is to help those in need. And she does, indeed, care for many who need her. Sara is one of those people who is motivated by care of others, bringing good to the world and finds the "stuff" in life inconsequential.
Sara Morsey loves Gainesville. Even though she still works as an actress in many theatres, she loves to return to this place she calls home. Sara loves animals, she is spiritual to the core, and cherishes her life. Her favorite thing to do is step upon the stage at the Hippodrome and share stories with the great folks of this community. Sara Morsey will continue to contribute to the arts and the pleasure that she brings to Gainesville as long as she breaths. She has been here since 1992 and is so very proud to call Gainesville her home. She is a member of Actor's Equity, an advocate of the homeless and a hard campaigner for her candidate of choice. We are proud to call her a citizen of our wonderful city.
