Silver Airways adds daily Atlanta-Gainesville flights

Gainesville travelers have an additional option to fly to Atlanta with Silver Airways’ announcement Tuesday that it will begin a daily round-trip route on behalf of United Airlines that started Wednesday.

The flights leave Gainesville Regional Airport at 6 a.m. and arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport at 7:40 a.m. Sunday through Friday. The return flight leaves Atlanta at 9 p.m. and arrives at 10:40 p.m.

ExpressJet Airlines also offers Delta Connection regional flights between Gainesville and Atlanta, with seven round-trip flights on weekdays and six on weekend days.

Arrival times are 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:17 p.m., 4:28 p.m., 5:39 p.m. (weekdays only), 8:40 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. Flights depart at 6:10 a.m., 8:05 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 12:55 p.m., 2:42 p.m., 4:55 p.m. and on weekdays only 6:05 p.m.

Silver Airways started offering daily regional flights for United from Gainesville to Tampa and Orlando on April 16 and added a Fort Lauderdale route June 1.

American Eagle runs a regional American Airlines route to Miami, and PSA Airlines operates a US Airways Express route to Charlotte, N.C.
