Florida's Jeff Demps has been added to the 2012 USA Track & Field Olympic Team as a member of the 4x100m relay pool, serving "as a replacement for Mike Rodgers who suffered a stress fracture in his left foot," according to the team.

Demps' addition to the roster increases the total number of Gators competing at the 2012 Olympic Games to 37. In addition, two current Gator head coaches (Gregg Troy - USA Men's Swimming Head Coach; Mike Holloway - USA Men's Track & Field Assistant Coach) and one Gator listed as an alternate (Melanie Booth, Canada's soccer team) are in London for the Olympic Games.

The 37 Gators competing in London sets the school's all-time record for number of letterwinners at a single Oylmpiad. A total of 34 Gators competed in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games.

While the Opening Ceremonies are set to be held on Friday, a pair of Gators will being their competition on Wednesday when Heather Mitts and Abby Wambach lead the U.S. women's soccer team against France beginning at noon at Hampden Park in first-round action.
