Georgia

Coach: Mark Richt, 12th season (106-38, all at Georgia).

Last year's record: 10-4 overall, 7-1 in the SEC (1st in the East). Lost to Michigan State 33-30 (3 OT) in the Outback Bowl.

Starters returning: 16 (six offense, nine defense, one specialist).

Best case scenario: QB Aaron Murray has a huge year, the defense is dominant and the Bulldogs take advantage of a fairly easy schedule to run the table in the league and advance to the SEC Championship Game for the second consecutive season.

Worst case scenario: The lack of a dynamic tailback makes the offense one-dimensional and puts pressure on Murray and the passing game. The Bulldogs are upset by Missouri in week two and lose at South Carolina on Oct. 6 to fall behind the Gamecocks in the East race.

Quotable: “All we're trying to do is prepare the best we can to hopefully play the very best we can play and maximize the potential of this football team. Hopefully that will be good enough to get back to Atlanta and hopefully play a little bit better this time around.” — Mark Richt
