UF's Reed named to Mackey Award watch list

Florida redshirt junior tight end Jordan Reed has played in 23 games for the Gators, making 14 starts at quarterback and tight end and holds 34 career receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns.

Florida redshirt junior tight end Jordan Reed has been named to the 2012 John Mackey Award preseason watch list that was announced Tuesday by the organization.




Reed has played in 23 games for the Gators, making 14 starts at quarterback and tight end and holds 34 career receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns. He saw action in 11 games in 2011, starting 10, earning 307 yard and 28 catches on the season averaging 11.4 yards per catch and 34.1 yards per game. In addition, 17 of his 28 catches were good for first downs.

The John Mackey Award, established in 2001, is awarded annually to the most outstanding tight end in FBS college football.
