No. 12 LSU at Florida

When: Oct. 6

Where: Florida Field, Gainesville

Why it's No. 12: One of these teams is usually ranked in the top five in the nation coming into this crucial early season SEC matchup between what have been conference powerhouses over the years. The Tigers figure to be in the top two or three in the nation coming into this year's game, while the Gators will be attempting to start regaining their elite status in the league this season.

Series history: The Gators lead the series 30-25, but the Tigers have won the last two meetings. UF starting true freshman Jacoby Brissett at quarterback in his first college game, was no match for No. 1 LSU last season, falling 41-11 in Baton Rouge.

Rivalry on scale of 1-100: 85. The Gators and Tigers have played every year since 1971, and like they say, familiarity breeds contempt, especially in the ultra-competitive SEC. LSU has been (and will continue to be) UF's permanent rival from the Western Division. These two teams have a lot of history (including a hurricane game) and have produced a lot of great moments in conference history.
