NO. 15 JELANI JENKINS
Florida junior linebacker
Weight: 233 lbs.
Why he's No. 15: Jenkins is an experienced outside linebacker who runs like a safety. His speed and good instincts give him a chance to make plays from sideline to sideline and cover tight ends man-to-man. He was a bit undersized in his first two seasons as a starter, but he's added about 15 pounds of muscle since January working out under Jeff Dillman and the new strength staff. He now how has the size to go along with that great speed, and has a chance to be one of the nation's top outside linebackers in 2012.
College career: In his 23 starts over the past two seasons, Jenkins has recorded 153 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, seven pass break-ups and two interceptions. He's also forced a fumble and recovered one. He's been one of the Gators' most consistent and reliable defenders the past two years.
Fun fact: If there is one flaw in his game, it might be his hands. Jenkins dropped five interceptions last season, two that could have been returned for touchdowns. That's why Jenkins spent some time in the spring with the receivers, catching ball after ball from the JUGS machine.
