Gatorsports.com counts down the top 25 games in the SEC for the 2012 season.
NO. 25 — KENTUCKY AT LOUISVILLE
When: Sept. 2
Where: Papa John's Stadium
Why it's No. 25: Obviously, these two schools are in-state rivals and Charlie Strong thinks he might have his best Louisville team since taking over as head coach three years ago. It's a table-setter for both teams' seasons, and the fact that it's been moved to Sunday afternoon on ESPN means we'll be watching.
Series history: The two teams quit playing in 1924 but revived the Battle for the Governor's Cup in 1994. Since then, Louisville has a 10-8 edge. Kentucky won four straight before Louisville snapped the winning streak with a 24-17 victory last year.
Rivalry on a scale of 1-100: 83. The two schools are much bigger rivals in basketball, but the football rivalry has blossomed lately.
