KINGSLEY, Iowa - A northwest Iowa teenager who decided a cardboard cutout of former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow was a better date than no date has made special memories at her high school prom.
Rachel Bird says she sent Tebow a Twitter message, asking him to escort her to this past Saturday's prom for Kingsley-Pierson High School. She says he's attractive and she likes the Christian way he conducts his life.
When the subject of "Tebomania" didn't respond, she abandoned the idea.
But on Saturday, Bird reconsidered and concluded that a cardboard cutout of the heartthrob would make her prom memorable.
Bird says that at the prom, girls wanted to dance with her quarter-inch-thick escort and the boys had their pictures taken with Rachel's "date."
