Three Florida players who went undrafted — quarterback John Brantley, wide receiver Deonte Thompson and defensive end William Green — signed free-agent contacts shortly after the conclusion of the draft Saturday night.
Brantley and Thompson signed with the Baltimore Ravens, while Green reached an agreement with the Cleveland Browns.
“I'm excited,” said Brantley, the former Ocala Trinity Catholic star. “I was expecting the worst after the last two years (at UF). I just want to get a shot, and that's what I got.
“The Ravens started showing interest in the middle of the second round. There's an opportunity there.”
Brantley and Thompson were part of the same UF signing class and became close over the years.
Now, they'll pursue their NFL dreams with the same team.
“It's a great opportunity,” Thompson said.
