Roundup: UF softball drops Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. — The No. 4 Gator softball team used a three-run, three-homer fourth inning to propel Florida to a 6-3 series clincher over the No. 9 Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday at a packed Jack Turner Stadium. Florida won its fifth-consecutive SEC series, improving to 31-4 overall and 12-2 in conference play.
For the second-consecutive day, and with UF down two runs in the fourth, sophomore Cheyenne Coyle hit a home run, her team-leading ninth of the season, while sophomore Lauren Haeger joined the party, making it back-to-back homers to tie the game at two in the top of the inning. With two outs, junior Ensley Gammel hit UF's third homer, the game-winning RBI, which gave the Gators a 3-2 lead it wouldn't give up.
Next up for Florida is in-state rival Florida State inTallahassee on Wednesday. It will air live on Fox Sports Florida.
MEN'S TENNIS: On a day that saw over 20 former lettermen from the 1960s-2000s come back to Gainesville for the bi-annual Lettermen's Weekend sponsored by the Men's Tennis Booster Club, the No. 11 Florida men's tennis team downed Alabama 7-0, at Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex. With the victory, the Gators improved to 12-7 overall and 5-3 in conference action.
The Gators return to action Frida when they travel to Fayetteville to face Arkansas at 2 p.m.
WOMEN'S TENNIS: The second-ranked University of Florida blanked Alabama, 7-0, and became the lone remaining undefeated team in the SEC with three conference matches left.
The Gators (15-1, 8-0) handed the SEC West leading Crimson Tide (13-3, 7-1) its first league loss of the season and halted Bama's eight-match winning streak while earning their 10th straight dual match victory, including their 33rd straight in SEC regular-season action.
