First team

101- Kayla Carman, Columbia, sophomore: Posted a 195 total to place 22nd at the state meet.

110- Jealyn Miller, Keystone Heights, junior: District 4 champion, placed 21st at state with a 210 total.

119- Shanice Brown, Gainesville, senior: District 4 champion with a 240 total, state meet qualifier.

129- Marie Thomas, Buchholz, junior: Claimed the District 4 title and placed 18th at state with a 260 total.

139- Cortnee Belton, Interlachen, senior: Won the District 4 title and posted a 325 total to finish sixth at state.

154- Jessica Kinsler, Gainesville, sophomore: District 4 champion also took home a state title with a 375 total, including a state record bench press of 210 pounds.

169- Breanna Thomas, Gainesville, sophomore: District 4 runner-up, turned in a 300 total to place 17th at the state meet.

183- Emily Keen, Gainesville, senior: Captured the District 4 title and finished third at state with a 320 total in her third state meet appearance.

199- Marta Waters, Interlachen, senior: District 4 champion, finished 17th at state with a 280 total.

Unlimited- Samantha Cook, Bradford, junior: District 4 champion, won the school's first individual state weightlifting title after posting a championship total of 445.

Second team

101- Megan Neal, Gainesville, freshman: Posted a team-best 195 total for the Hurricanes.

110- Karen Clark, Bradford, freshman: Placed 24th at the state meet with a 195 total.

119- Kaylyn Bruce, Interlachen, senior: Finished with a 220 total to place seventh at the District 4 state qualifying meet.

129- Hannah Ogle, Interlachen, sophomore: Posted a 230 total to placed 24th at the state meet.

139- Amber Mann, Hawthorne, sophomore: Placed 10th at the District 4 meet with a 235 total.

154- Brittany Person, Eastside, senior: First year lifter finished with a 230 total for the Rams.

169- Terri Tompson, Interlachen, senior: Finished fourth at the District 4 state qualifying meet with a 250 total.

183- Cayla Tucker, Gainesville, junior: Was third at the Keystone Heights Invitational with a 280 total.

199- Miranda Bass, Gainesville, sophomore: District 4 runner-up posted a 280 to finish 19th at the state meet.

Unlimited- Morgan Boettcher, Keystone Heights, junior: The Sun's 2011 lifter of the year finished with a 420 total to place third at the state meet.

He takes home this award for the second straight season after steering the Hurricanes to a 6-0 regular-season mark, and to a third-place finish at the Keystone Heights Invitational. At the District 4 state qualifying meet, an area-best seven GHS lifters placed in the top three in their respective weight classes and qualified for the state meet. Led by Jessica Kinsler's state championship at the 154-pound class and Emily Keen's third-place finish at the 183-pound class, the Hurricanes finished tied for fifth place with 11 points.
