A Gainesville man who police say forced his former girlfriend into a car and then chased her into a store when she escaped is wanted on charges of domestic battery, kidnapping and aggravated stalking in violation of a domestic violence injunction.
Sought for the Wednesday afternoon incident is Ayangre D. Ross, 20, Cpl. Angelina Valuri said.
Police said the incident began when Ross threw the woman on a recliner, dragged her out of her house and forced her into the back seat of a car that was driven by another man.
Valuri said the woman tried to get out at one point and Ross punched her in the face. She was able to get out of the car at 1600 NW 13th St. and ran into the CVS, Valuri said. She jumped over a counter beside an employee and tried to hide, police added.
Ross chased her and tried to punch her several times over the counter before fleeing, Valuri said.
Police have been unable to find Ross.
