A Lake City woman and two children on a school bus were injured Monday afternoon when the woman rear-ended the bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, which cited the woman for careless driving.

The 3:50 p.m. crash happened on State Road 47 at Southwest Mill Road. According to troopers, bus driver Laverne Lee had stopped the school bus and had all of the required lights activated when the bus was stopped to let off the student.

Veronica Moore, 27, was behind the bus in a 1998 Honda Accord when she hit the back of the bus, according to Trooper M.E. Birchard. Moore was taken to Shands at Lake Shore in Lake City.

The injured Lake City students, Carley Wartszok, 13, and McKayla Land, 14, were both taken to Lake City Medical Center with minor injuries.
