What to watch for this week in SEC basketball.
After playing Thursday night at Ole Miss, No. 14 Florida returns home for a Saturday showdown at home against No. 18 Mississippi State. The Gators are 9-1 in Thursday-Saturday games the past two seasons. But Florida will face a tough test inside containing Mississippi State forward Arnett Moultrie, who is fourth in the SEC in scoring (16.4 ppg) and leads the SEC in rebounding (11.2 rpg). Florida has won 16 straight at the O’Connell Center.
Alabama has had a tough stretch, losing four straight by a combined margin of 22 points. The Tide return home for a must-win game against Arkansas. The Razorbacks have struggled away from Bud Walton Arena, going 0-4 in road games.
Rolling on road
At 6-0, Kentucky is the lone unbeaten team remaining in conference play. The Wildcats will look to extend their 12-game winning on Saturday at LSU’s Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Kentucky already has more road wins (three) in SEC play than it did all of last season (2-6) with wins at Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee.
