Doris Edwards: Why I support Armando Grundy

It’s election time and east Gainesville will get the same old elementary psychology handed out by the candidates as we do every time. They all get this sudden burst of magical powers to make good things happen in east Gainesville! After the election we get the same traditional snub as before.

As a 20 year community activist and advocate for positive quality of life for east Gainesville I've had my share of issues. Armando Grundy is the only candidate in the District 1 race who has been assisting east Gainesville on these issues. It was not until recently that I discovered he either walked or rode the bus to City Hall to be there as a strong voice.

I received a mailer recently from Yvonne Hinson-Rawls, It talks a lot about what she stands for but absolutely no mention of what she has done to help District 1, especially east Gainesville. Could that be because she’s got that political magic moment that will go away after the election just like the rest? She did however spend time bashing Armando in the mailer, showing him standing with Charlie Crist and Ron Paul. (sad)

This 2012 District 1 race is like none I’ve seen before. In spite of the strategic obstacles, Armando has a forgiving heart. He keeps his head up, his shoulders back and his mind focused on the needs of the people. That’s the making of a Commissioner who will continue to get things done in District 1 for all the people regardless of their political status.

Please Vote for ARMANDO GRUNDY

Doris Edwards,

Gainesville
